Power Supply
A massive 2000 Watt toroidal transformer delivers rock solid power delivery under any demand. The advantage of a single large transformer is that individual channels have access to the entire capacity of the power supply. A design using smaller individual transformers, while cheaper, limits each channel to its own transformer's lesser capability. If a channel's demand exceeds its own power supply's capability, the music suffers. With one oversized transformer, there is additional power available when a channel needs it--the music is never compromised.

Power Output
Loudspeakers thrive on big power and every loudspeaker made benefits from greater power. The KAV-2250 and KAV-3250 have virtually unlimited power with 250 Watts into 8 Ohms and 500 Watts into 4 Ohms. The two channels of a KAV-2250 can be bridged into a monaural amplifier with a 1000 Watt (8 Ohm) output. Any two adjacent channels of a KAV-3250 may be bridged resulting in an amplifier with one 1000 Watt (8 Ohm) and one 250 Watt (8 Ohm) channel.

Circuitry
Featuring circuitry sourced from the Full Power Balanced amplifiers, the KAV-2250 and KAV-3250 include technology previously incorporated in the reference level components only. The circuit topology is executed with Krell Current Mode circuitry featuring balanced topology for the lowest noise and true insight into the recording. Surface mount technology is utilized for maximum circuit density resulting in the widest dynamic range and bandwidth possible. Class A input, pre-driver, and driver stages provide the most accurate signal path for critical low level signals.
